Thermal Conductivity of Nanostructured Semiconductor Alloys

Published in Handbook of Materials Modeling: Applications: Current and Emerging Materials, 2020

This book chapter provides a comprehensive description of phonon transport in nanostructures of silicon-based Group-IV alloys. Our work shows that thermal conductivity in Si-Ge nanostructures including thin films, superlattices, nanowires, and nanocomposites to be well below their bulk counterparts, reaching almost to the amorphous limit.
